I have just had an overnight stay in the Hotel Ciutat in Girona with my partner and 2 friends. The whole experience was excellent. At check in the receptionist was friendly and helpful. As we were early, only one of our rooms was ready so we left our bags and explored Girona. On our return, there was a different receptionist who immediately said 'oh you must be Ms.Park, your room is ready for you'. This tells me what good communication there is between the staff. The rooms were spotless, modern, comfortable and had every amenity including a complimentary mini bar, slippers and bath robes, chocolates and drink making facilities, shoe horn, shoe cleaners, etc.etc All for a special rate of 94 euros for a double! We had considered staying at the Historic in the old town but we were put off by the reviews about the church bells ringing through the night. The Ciutat was really quiet. On arrival at our room we saw the housekeper and requested two more pillows - within 3 minutes she returned with them! The next morning we had a lovely breakfast, continental and cooked (even cava if you wanted it) and the staff once again, couldn't do enough for you and with a smile:)
We would definitley stay here again and we highly recommend it as great value for money.
One word of warning - don't eat at 'el Pou del Call' in Josep Cors Brugue. It was diabolical. It promised so much with a quaint exterior and extensive menu but the food was virtually inedible and the service indifferent.'
Best wishes to you and your staff, please thank them all for us.
Warm regards
Yvette, Julie, Hilary and Joan
